UNL Student Health 101 is a free online magazine written by students for students. Topics present in monthly issues include eating well, managing stress, relationships, workouts, and much more!

There are four UNL departments that have formed a collaborative team to fund and provide support for UNL Students to enjoy this online magazine at no cost. Additionally, the Chancellor has provided funds to support this program through the UNL Wellness Initiative. The goal of the UNL team, is to provide tailored content to the interests and challenges of UNL students and the members of its community. It is offered to students, their parents, and staff of UNL.

In order to achieve our goal of connecting with students, parents and staff UNL Student Health 101 employs a Student Coordinator to facilitate the direction of the magazine. Responsibilities of the Student Coordinator include:

· Promoting UNL Student Health 101 around campus using various avenues (i.e. events, contests, posters)
· Work closely with other departments on campus (UNL Housing and Dining services, UNL Student Involvement, UNL Health Center, UNL Wellness and Fitness Services)
· Organizing and conducting team meetings
· Social media management
· Submitting articles
· Occasionally writing articles
· Soliciting student involvement:
o Writing articles,
o Helping with events
o Creating/submitting video content
o Acting as a sounding board for topic areas, incentives, etc.

This position requires approximately a 5 hour per week time commitment working in the Wellness Services office in the Campus Recreation Center. Exceptions include big events such as Big Red Welcome and Get Rec’d which require extended hours. The UNL Student Health 101 Student Coordinator position pays $500 a semester.
