Hannah Peterson, advertising grad student, is available from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

John Schreier's writing career began in fifth grade with a collection of short stories lacking plot, character development and action that made any sense. Upon reaching high school, he began directing his efforts toward journalism in an attempt to find a place to write. As he grew older and gained the highest position achievable at his high school newspaper, he decided that this world was not enough, and he declared a major in journalism after a UNL semester of soul searching and a few soul-sucking classes outside journalism. The senior from Papillion discovered that there was a place in college for a grammar Nazi like himself, and he parlayed that into a job at the Daily Nebraskan and internships with the Clay County News, The Denver Post and the Omaha World-Herald.

Hannah Peterson has always had a soft spot for creative writing--fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoirs and recently screenwriting. She has been known to attend summer writing conferences and loves to discuss plot, characters, grammar, you name it. Taking pride in being multi-faceted, she currently is teaching a copywriting course while completing her Master's degree in the Advertising here in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. After earning an undergraduate degree in Advertising from UNL, she spent a semester in Peoria, Ill., as a communications coordinator at Caterpillar Inc., meanwhile taking creative writing courses at Bradley University and working in the university's writing center. Upon returning to Nebraska, she worked in a non-profit educational organization in downtown Omaha, returned to school and recently started her own design and photography freelance business.
