Job Description:
We are looking for an intern to play a major role in the Brain Injury Association of Nebraska’s social media outreach and marketing strategy. You will be part of the early development of a non-profit association and help us make social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts. This internship is an unpaid position, but will provide references and help develop your job skills and portfolio.
Interns are expected to have experience with social media on a business level preferred (social media classes will suffice). You must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into our marketing strategy and how we can create long-lasting relationships with donors and provide value to our members.
An intern will be performing the following tasks:
Writing new content for the our Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other accounts; creating new profiles and pages, and posting tweets/updates, etc.
RSS building to track the BIA-NE’s presence on social media outlets
Researching and reporting to association on new social media trends and services.
Possibly writing news releases and other marketing material
Developing an overall marketing plan
Skills and attributes interns are expected to have:
• Proficiency in social media.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing and proofreading skills
• Fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence
• Abilities to identify a target market and “speak” to that consumer through social media
• Work effectively on a team and independently.
Hours:
Approximately 3-5 hours per week. Intern can work from home.
