KETV-TV a Hearst Television owned station has an opening for a Full Time Weekend Morning Photographer/Newscast Producer. The newscast producer is responsible for putting together television newscasts for broadcast. This includes writing and editing copy, working with reporters and anchors and some video editing. The newscast producer is responsible for showcasing various elements of the newscast through the use of graphics and other broadcast production techniques. The newscast producer is responsible for timing the newscast.
Job Responsibilities:
• Writing News Stories
• Showcasing stories with graphics and other visual elements
• Shoot video for news broadcasts
• Edit video for news broadcasts
• Gather information for news stories
• Shoot write and deliver packages
• Shoot live shots
• Live on-air reporting
• Perform tasks on tight deadlines

• At least two years producing newscasts in a television newsroom

Qualifications Requirements:
• Degree in journalism, broadcasting or related career
• Excellent live skills
• Strong copy editing skills
• Non linear video editing skills
• Must be able to manage time well
• Must be creative
• Must have some ability to manage others
• Must be able to work well with others as part of a team.
• Ability to carry 30-50 pounds of camera equipment
• Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Must have good news judgment
• Must have knowledge of libel and privacy laws.
• Must be skilled in the production of breaking news.
• Special consideration given to a producer with sports production experience and/or a knowledge of college football.
Education:
• Degree in journalism, broadcasting or a related field
