UNL Electronic Media Associate Producer (temporary)

Position assists the production team in the conceptualizing design development of electronic materials based on adult learning and distance education theories including but not limited to scriptwriting, video shooting, graphics production and other duties of video production. Includes work in multimedia, digital video production, html code and real time web-streaming. Uses standardized video production equipment and software to create materials for digital distance education, broadcast, video production and the web. Person in this position utilizes experience in the use of digital video and audio, 3-D design, html coding, video streaming, journalism, agriculture and the mission of the land-grant university. The position is often directly involved in video production and marketing of products. Additionally, the position assists the production team to deliver of distance education programs and courses.



Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field plus experience in broadcast news and video production (writing, shooting, editing) required. Experience must include preparing audio video media for distribution via broadcast stations and the Internet and taking a project from beginning to end. Demonstrable work experience as an intern or work completed while attending courses will be considered. Knowledge of radio and video news writing, reporting and production is essential. Experience must demonstrate independent thought and skills in broadcast interview, oral and written communication, decision making, and time management. Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.



Two or more years of experience in broadcast news and video production (writing, shooting, editing) is preferred. Experience in an agricultural communications organization desirable.
