CoJMC Town Hall Meeting

The Student Advisory Board will be hosting a student led Town Hall on November 20th at 7pm. Below is the blueprint we have written for this event. Feel free to reduce it to fit the newsletter.

CoJMC Town Hall Blueprint:

Goal:
Get student feedback on strengths and weaknesses of the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communication through an open students forum facilitated by Student Advisory Board members.

Planning:
Room 109 has been secured for Nov. 20, 2013, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

How it will work: SAB members will welcome students and quickly outline the topics to be discussed (a preliminary list below). Then we will transition from topic to topic, each containing a prepared set of questions designed to get information out of the students if they do not have issues of their own to air. These topics will look to highlight the good and the bad, the working and the needs improvement, and should be focused as constructively as possible.

Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Discussion should be respectful and based on substance.

We will reassure students that their feedback will be anonymous.

SAB members will answer questions to the best of their knowledge or get answers to questions they cannot answer to the student after the fact. One SAB member (or more) will take notes on the discussion and later formulate a report to be distributed to college administration and other appropriate parties.
