An announcement was sent out on Tuesday about an application to participate in the CoJMC trip to New York to attend the AWNY Conference and Agency Crawl. Participation in the trip DOES NOT require an application. You simply need to to complete our registration form and pay $136, which covers the AWNY registration fee and student insurance.
The application is for one of six $500 scholarships in support of students who participate in this experience. So, if you would like to apply for the scholarship you will need to create an application in addition to completing the registration and paying the fee. Please see detailed information below.

UNL CoJMC Ninth Annual UNL Trip to New York City & AWNY Career Conference
Wednesday November 19 – Saturday November 22, 2014
Visit ad agencies and PR firms all day Thursday November 21. The Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) Career Conference kicks off at 5pm that evening with a keynote presentation and reception. The Career Conference continues from 8am to 2pm Friday, with presentations by top professionals and opportunities for one-on-one mentoring. Mix and mingle with Ad/PR alums that evening at a reception with our new dean, Dr. Maria Marron. Fly home on Saturday or extend your visit til Sunday to enjoy all that New York City has to offer.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION:
If you are interested in participating in this exciting opportunity, take advantage of the early bird registration and do the following by Monday, Sept. 29 at noon:

2. This experience is limited to 50 students. Secure your spot by paying $136 (payable to UNL), which includes the AWNY Conference registration fee as well as travel insurance to participate in this experience in New York. Please drop your check off with Deb Klimes in the CoJMC main office. We will register all students together.
Scholarship
We have more good news! This year, we have six $500 scholarships available in support of ADPR majors participating in this exciting experience. Here’s what you need to do to apply for the scholarship in addition to the two steps listed above (also due Monday, Sept. 29 at noon):

Instructions: Create a :30 video that explains what you would gain from the opportunity to to the AWNY Conference in New York and participating in the agency visits. Your video cannot be longer than :30. You must begin your recording with either audio or video that says, “Going to New York will allow me to…” and end with our college’s tagline, “Start Here. Go Anywhere.” You should upload a link to your video as part of the scholarship application. Applicants will be notified by Oct. 1.
LATE REGISTRATION:
If you can’t make the early bird registration deadline we also have late registration available (see steps 1 and 2 above), which is due on Friday, Oct. 31 at noon. However, only early bird registrants are eligible for the scholarship award.
