Internship at The Lincoln Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA)

The Lincoln Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is currently looking for a Marketing Intern for the 2011-2012 school year. This internship is unpaid, but offers numerous benefits and networking opportunities with marketing professionals in the Lincoln area and surrounding communities.

Benefits include regular attendance at AMA Board meetings, monthly attendance at all Lincoln AMA events including Special Interest Group (SIGs) and monthly luncheon presentations—featuring top marketing leaders from around the country. Attendance fees associated with local Lincoln AMA events/luncheons will be waived for the Marketing Intern. (Valued at over $500.)

The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in a college or university earning a degree in marketing, advertising, broadcasting, or a related field.

Internship duties may include, but not limited to:
• Attendance at all monthly luncheon programs, SIGs, and board meetings
• Prepare written summary of each program and SIG to be shared with AMA members
• Cold call businesses for sponsorships or donations
• Make ‘warm’ calls to members to encourage attendance and renewals
• Data entry and lead-generation work
• Audio/Visual presentation management at Lincoln AMA monthly programs
• Assist with overall event planning as needed
• Research potential social media posts

SIGs occur two to three times a month during the hours of 8-9 a.m. Monthly luncheon presentations typically occur on the second Thursday of every month at Embassy Suites-Lincoln from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Board meetings occur on the first Friday of every month over the lunch hour in the Atrium Building in downtown Lincoln.
