Society of Environmental Journalists invites UNL students to annual conference

The Society of Environmental Journalists is meeting this fall in Oklahoma, providing a uniquely affordable opportunity for students from UNL to rub shoulders with leading environmental reporters while deepening their expertise in some of the nation's most compelling problems - energy, water and climate change.

Students from UNL are eligible to attend at the student rate $80, a significant discount off the member rate of $240. In addition, the hotel rooms are suites, which translates into affordable lodging. Each suite can sleep up to six people. The rooms come with complimentary breakfast and happy hour. Another option for saving on lodging is to contact SEJ's roommate coordinator Cindy MacDonald: cmac3054@gmail.com

The conference is Oct. 7-11, the host is the University of Oklahoma. For information, visit sej.org (http://www.sej.org/initiatives/sej-annual-conferences/AC2015-main)

This year's conference comes with a value-added benefit: access to the nation's brightest minds in severe weather research due to SEJ's collaboration with the National Weather Center at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. And, because the international climate talks in Paris in December will be a major news story in the months ahead, SEJ has heightened the conference focus on climate change.
