Global Eyewitness Nicaragua: Stories of trials and perseverance brings you ten student-produced stories from all across Nicaragua. These photo and video projects present narratives of tenacity: of a couple raising and exporting tarantulas and boa constrictors, of a mother who needs her children to collect recyclables in a smoldering landfill, of a woman who aspires to become one of the first standout women boxers in her culture. They explore issues of malnutrition, street children, rural maternity health and the dangers of lobster diving. Collectively, these pieces offer a glimpse into a rich and diverse culture made up of small stories of inspiring perseverance.
All are invited to attend this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center located at 313 N. 13th Street, Lincoln. Admission is free.
