Dear College of Journalism and Mass Communications students:

Welcome Back for the 2016 Spring Semester.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and rejuvenating break. Here at the CoJMC we’ve been getting ready for another exciting semester and are happy to have everyone back in Andersen Hall.

This semester at the CoJMC will include many engaging and enriching events, including two speakers as a part of the Hearst Speaker Series on Diversity and Modern Media. Sheryl WuDunn, the first Asian-American to win a Pulitzer Prize, will be speaking at the E.N. Thompson Forum, co-sponsored by the CoJMC, on Feb. 2. Hank Klibanoff, co-author of “The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle and the Awakening of a Nation,” will be speaking at Andersen Hall on March 10.

APME NewsTrain will be here April 9, which will bring high quality, affordable training that will focus on both the digital and traditional skills needed by journalists – a can’t-miss opportunity for students.

It has never been a better time to a part of the CoJMC. Our hands-on opportunities allow you to hone your skills and make you ready for the job market. The CoJMC has the highest job placement rate at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, so we’re ready to help you Start Here. Go Anywhere.

Please know that we are committed to your success. Please visit any time to let me know how you are doing and how we can help.

With every good wish as you start the new semester,
Maria B. Marron
