The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Journalism & Mass Communications is hosting Salute to Students on May 6 at 5 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.

Salute to Students honors all students who have received scholarships or awards from the CoJMC in the 2015-16 academic year, Kappa Theta Alpha inductees and all graduating seniors.
This includes all Hearst, SPJ, NSAC, Paper Anvil and other awards.

This event combines two events the college traditionally held at the end of the academic year – the CoJMC Honors Convocation, which honored scholarship and award recipients and KTA inductees, and Salute to Seniors, which honored graduating seniors.

The Broadcast Pioneer Award recipient will also be announced. The Broadcast Pioneer Award is chosen by members of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association and the broadcasting faculty and students of the college. This award recognizes those individuals whose long-term leadership has contributed to the high quality of Nebraska broadcasting and the high quality of broadcast education.

Students who are being honored were sent invitations to their permanent address. If you or your parents received an invitation, please RSVP to Cheri Oltman at 402-472-3051 or coltman3@unl.edu.

Graduating seniors will be asked complete and submit a short form to Nicole Blackstock atnblackstock2@unl.edu, which will be read at the ceremony.

Reception begins with refreshments at 5 p.m. and the program begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Auditorium, 1400 R. St.
