Graphic Design & Social Media Specialist, YMCA of Lincoln

Supports the Association’s marketing and communication efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Designs the “look” and layout of all YMCA Lincoln association marketing materials while adhering to Y-USA brand standards.
Assists branches in developing and designing branch-specific marketing pieces including flyers, signage and T-Shirt design
Works with facility staff to encourage and implement the use of the Y look and voice.
Continually monitors graphic integrity, consistency, and style of marketing pieces. Assists the CMMO with regular internal audits and takes appropriate action to correct improper use of the YMCA logo and branding standards.
Manages the Association social media presence on Facebook and Twitter; including daily posts and imagery, promoting and scheduling posts, listening and responding to posts.
Monitor and provide training and guidance for branch specific Facebook pages.
Assists in designing and maintaining the Association’s website.
Assists with special events (promoting, taking pictures, etc.).
Assists with photography, video shooting and editing as necessary.
Receives and protects confidential information.
Receives and carries out instructions.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, write, talk, see and hear.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Ability to exhibit initiative, responsibility and flexibility and maintain organization and detail in a changing environment.
General knowledge and proficient use of a computer and computer programs to include MS Office products and design software (Adobe Suite of Design products, Microsoft Publisher, Windows Moviemaker (or other preferred video editing software).
Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple projects at one time.
Ability to work with all levels of YMCA staff, volunteers and vendors and establish effective working relationships.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
A self-starter who takes initiative to complete everything on his/her “to-do” list with minimal check in’s.
Ability to exhibit creativity when given a concept while adhering to brand standards.
Writing and strong editing/proofreading skills.
Experience with website design, content writing and updates.
Experience in using and understanding various social networking platforms.
Possesses a strong understanding of the YMCA and its purpose, mission and values. Demonstrates this understanding through behavior and actions that support the purpose, mission and values.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and previous design experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to perform sedentary physical activity that may include lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs and fingering (typing).
