Interested in editing? Language? Internships? No, you don’t have to be a nerd or even grammar-obsessed to join. But wanting to have fun helps.

Join the American Copy Editors Society at its kickoff meeting at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the Bailey Library in Andrews Hall (across from the English Department offices).

We’re part of a national group of more than 1,800 editors working at newspapers, magazines, book publishers, Fortune 500 companies, and government agencies. Others work as freelance editors or in academia.

That’s why as a student chapter, we’re open to all majors.

If you can’t make the kickoff meeting, put these dates and speakers on your calendar. It won’t be a lecture; instead plan on a conversation with a couple of recent UNL graduates.

Come, even if you don’t want to join ACES.
