Hello CoJMC Students!
I wanted to introduce myself as your new Career Development Specialist. I grew up in Wisconsin, and I received my bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. This past May, I graduated with my master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. While working on my master’s degree, I worked in Career Services where I advised students on resume and cover letter writing, conducted mock interviews to prepare students for internship or job interviews, and I acted as a general career resource for students.
In my role as Career Development Specialist, I will help students navigate the internship/job search process. This may include advising on resume, cover letter, and/or graduate school application personal statement writing, conducting mock interviews to prepare students for internship or job interviews, or helping students find internship or job postings in their major field of study.
My office is located in 107 Andersen Hall near Jill’s and Andrea’s advising offices. I encourage you all to schedule an appointment with me through MyPlan. My office hours to make an appointment during are 9-4. I look forward to advising you on your career development needs as you begin your professional journey.
Warm Regards,
Courtney Pearson
