Position Summary:
The Digital Media Intern will assist with the production of websites for APM National such as The Splendid Table and Classical APM. Duties include gathering information and readying it for the Web, working with digital audio and graphics, and helping with related administrative tasks. The internship will provide basic training in Web production and exposure to professional practices.

Position Responsibility:
· Formats text in HTML.
· Copy-edit text for spelling, grammar, style consistency and general accuracy on a regular basis.
· Create Web graphics as needed (banners, illustrative graphics, promotional images, etc.)
· Collects information from internal sources and posts it to the Web.
· Edit and encode audio for use on through digital channels
· Identifies and reports production problems and assists with solutions.
· Follows established workflow and production routines for site maintenance.
· Checks work for HTML accuracy and browser compatibility.
· Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
· Proficiency in HTML and CSS
· Excellent language skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading
· Photoshop skills and a good photojournalistic sense
· Good research and organizational skills
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
· Ability to work efficiently with limited direct supervision
· Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential component of the job
· Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues
· Ability to maintain productive and positive communication with co-workers

Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Hands-on experience in Web production at school or in the workplace.
· Experience with Web authoring tools, online audio, and basic programming is helpful.
· Experience with JavaScript, mySQL, and other languages helpful but not necessary
· Knowledge of “AP” Style
· Knowledge of Drupal a plus
· Experience with blogging or other community-based online features

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
· Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

o Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping.

Our offices are located in downtown St. Paul, MN. Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis. Relocation allowance is not available. Parking or bus pass partially reimbursed.
