ACES meeting Friday, Oct. 7

Never had an internship and want to know how to get started? Wonder what recruiters really want? Nervous about interviews? Not sure what to put in a cover letter?

Join ACES at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in Room 120 for a Skype Q and A session with Walter Middlebrook, an assistant managing editor at The Detroit News. Middlebrook is well-known in journalism recruiting circles. He's hired hundreds of interns and staffers for papers across the country, including Newsday where he worked before moving to Detroit.

Check him out in this video on our chapter blog: http://acesunl.com/blog/

Although ACES is a student editing group, the session is open to anyone. You'll get some practical advice at this session and may decide to make ACES your student organization. We'll also have tips on where to look for internships, including editing jobs.

The only requirement for attending: Bring questions for Walter Middlebrook.

Questions? Contact Sue Burzynski Bullard at sbullard2@unl.edu or ACES President Emily Giller at emilyrg1@cox.net.
