Omaha Press Club, Nebraska Broadcasters Association honor five CoJMC students

The Omaha Press Club Foundation will award four students a total of $10,000 in scholarships on Friday, April 28, at the Omaha Press Club Scholarship and Awards Dinner. The Nebraska Broadcasters Association will award a fifth student a $2,000 scholarship.

The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m.

The students receiving the scholarships are Samuel Baue, a senior broadcasting major; Bailey Shulz, a junior double-majoring in journalism and ADPR; Megan Simonson, a senior ADPR and anthropology major, and Isaac Wahlmeier, a freshman double-majoring in journalism and ADPR. The NBA will present Ben Buchnat, a junior broadcasting and journalism major, with its inaugural scholarship.

The program will also honor John Prescott, a former TV reporter and news director and PR man, with the Career Achievement Award. David Ogden, a professor at UNO, will be presented with the Journalism Educator Award.
