Jacht Ad Lab presentations open to the public

Jacht Ad Lab, the College of Journalism and Mass Communications’ student ad agency, will present client work completed this semester in a final exhibition Friday, May 5, at 9 a.m., at 151 North 8 Street, lower level. The event is free and open to the public.

Clients this semester have included the city of Lincoln’s bus system, the state of Nebraska Department of Tourism, Lancaster Rehabilitation Center, KPI Ninja, Nebraska Extension’s HailKnow project, Capitol City Electric, the Nebraska Shrine Bowl, Clinic with a Heart, the Nebraska State Treasurer, Geyer Productions, UNL’s Couples and Family Clinic, Swapin, Prosper Lincoln and The Drift.

This semester, Jacht welcomed the addition of a broadcast production class, adding more video skills to the agency. Broadcasting Assistant Professor of Practice Alan Eno led the new course, joining founder and director Dr. Amy Struthers at the agency. In addition, local professionals consulting at Jacht included Sandra Day Cranny and Sean Faden.

A unique hybrid of a class and a small startup, Jacht gives UNL students from across campus the opportunity to run all aspects of a business. The agency partners with marketing and communications firms such as Swanson Russell, Bailey Lauerman, and Archrival, to ensure best practices and develop a talent pipeline for the advertising and public relations industries.
