Position Summary: Assists in developing and implementing sales, marketing, and promotional programs and materials related to Wharton Center events and initiatives; coordinates the flow of materials and processes with marketing team and media account executives; assists with marketing settlements with touring groups; cultivates partnerships, assists with logistics, fulfillment and promotions; assists with writing and editing copy for print, electronic media and media relations; assists with implementation of subscription, groups and single ticket sales strategies, including telemarketing campaigns; assists with market research and general administrative support as needed. Duties associated with this position involve working on a video display terminal 80 percent of the time.
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational, or business school such as an Associate's Degree in Marketing/Sales; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in sales and marketing strategies; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing or related communications/arts field; knowledge of marketing and sales principles; knowledge of performing arts disciplines; ability to exercise initiative and judgment; experience in writing and editing copy; knowledge of electronic media and media relations, telemarketing, group sales; knowledge of market research; experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Access.
