Production Intern - Platte Basin Timelapse (PBT)

The Platte Basin Timelapse project (PBT) is currently looking for new Production Interns to join our team.

The PBT team creates innovative multimedia content to tell the compelling stories of the Platte Basin: web-based journalism, combining art with science to better communicate complex natural processes, STEM-based educational curricula for middle and high school science students, and a forthcoming documentary film for public television.

We train our interns in the use of technical digital image gathering technology, and they play an important role in processing the PBT images into time-lapse videos. They also research and write background information that provides the basis for contextual storytelling centered on our 60+ camera locations, and suggest and create new ways to communicate to our constituents through our website and social media.

The internship is paid, minimum wage and a minimum of 10 hours a week, though that can vary due to class schedules, field trips, etc.

It is our preference to provide internships to students as they enter their Sophomore or Junior year so that the students can work with us as interns long enough to make the extensive training and work experience valuable to both the student and to PBT.

We are looking for students who are passionate about water, environmental conservation, science communication, natural resources, agriculture, educational outreach, photography and multimedia storytelling.

Some of the qualities we will be looking for in a candidate include but are not limited to: excellent communication skills, self-motivation, eagerness and willingness to learn, a creative mind, an enthusiastic and accountable character.

The interns will be working mostly with the Adobe Creative Cloud and Nikon DSLR cameras, so prior knowledge of these are ideal but not necessary. Those who want to gain skills in conservation storytelling are encouraged to apply.
