CoJMC student wins grand prize in electronic media competition

Broadcasting student Zach Penrice, a broadcasting and journalism double-major at the CoJMC, recently took home a grand prize win at the 55th annual National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition. His piece, “Suicide Survivor,” was in the web news article category.

Grand prize winners were recognized at the awards ceremony of the National Broadcasting Society-AERho national convention on Saturday, March 3 in Washington, D.C.

Senior broadcasting major Kellan Heavican and the fall semester Broadcasting Advanced Production and Advanced Reporting classes also received honorable mention.

Heavican received honorable mention in the audio sports and video news categories. The two broadcasting classes received honorable mention for their “Love N’ Lincoln” special in the video magazine program category.
