AIGA NEBRASKA is very proud to offer the annual Designing Opportunity Scholarship. Students who exhibit excellence in their field can receive financial support to explore their potential as designers. This year we are awarding two scholarships: one open to all students, and one focused on recognizing students of color who are representative of our diverse community.
AIGA Nebraska is committed to increasing the diversity of creatives in our area by providing opportunities for students who will bring new perspectives and life experiences. We are seeking applicants who will support AIGA’s work in building a more diverse industry.
Winners will receive a $500 scholarship to the institution of their choice and a one-year Contributing AIGA Membership.

To apply for the Designing Opportunity Scholarship, you don’t need to be a designer. However, you must be a resident of Nebraska that’s pursuing an educational path as a high school senior, undergraduate or graduate student.
Eligible candidates must include the following:
• One letter of recommendation from an educator or employer
• A resume (including race/ethnicity) and up to 3 portfolio pieces in a single PDF.
• An essay response (250-750 words) to the question:
“How will this scholarship provide an opportunity for you to break barriers in the design industry?” OR “How will this scholarship provide an opportunity for you to change the perception of creative professionals?”
