The ideal Morgan&Myers Associate Communications Intern is a full-time student pursuing a major in communications, public relations, advertising or journalism; is passionate and knowledgeable about agriculture, food and other client-related industries; is an excellent writer and skilled communicator; thrives under pressure; is detail-oriented; and recognizes the opportunity within each challenge.

What you’ll be doing:
At Morgan&Myers, you are not just an “intern.” Our Associate Communications Interns are valued employees and an important part of our team. You will gain real life experience to add to your portfolio, a strong understanding and working knowledge of the agency environment and well-developed relationships with senior staff – not just data-entry. The following is a description of what an intern’s summer may entail:
• Serving clients such as Case IH, Pfizer Animal Health, Foremost Farms, National Milk Producers Federation, and others.
• Working with a group of energetic, outgoing and experienced people who will share their knowledge with you in an upbeat, fun, creative work environment.
• Practicing various professional roles such as project manager, copywriter and account service, and becoming fully immersed in the communications function.

Some of the specific duties and responsibilities may include:
– Researching and writing feature articles, newsletter articles, collateral, audiovisuals and other public relations materials.
– Developing advertising campaign materials.
– Assisting with the coordination of special events and trade shows.
– Conducting secondary research and summarizing research results.
– Working with creative department and production personnel to produce materials.
– Interacting with editors, writers and reporters to publicize client products and discuss client issues.
– Taking photos and/or traveling as assignments demand.
• Monitoring time and expenses on assignment work. • Training both in-house and at outside locations. • Attending community, cultural and sporting events.
