Greetings Husker Family,

I hope all of your summer activities were fun and full of adventure. I am thrilled to welcome each and every one of you back to the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. I trust this year will present engaging challenges and wonderful opportunities for all.

This is going to be a very exciting year that will emphasize our growing. We will all be growing together as faculty, staff and as students. Together we are going to accomplish great things.

This year, I encourage you all to step outside of your comfort zone, take risks, embrace the resources that we have here at the College and try something new. We as faculty and staff will be able to help you with anything and everything you need to create an imprint for yourself here at Nebraska.

The new year is always an exciting and sometimes scary time for new students. We intend to help break the ice with events throughout the semester, events that will allow you to get to know your classmates, the faculty and the staff of the college. We also encourage you to get involved in the many activities the campus has to offer. Meeting new people and making new friends is a wonderful part of the college experience.

I hope you all have an excellent year here at Nebraska. Stay focused, work hard and you will accomplish amazing things. I am looking forward to watching these amazing things happen.

Have a great year.

Best,

Amy Struthers, Ph.D.
