The UNL Office of Research and Economic Development seeks a student web assistant to help with a variety of web- and database-related responsibilities for a robust website. We need a responsible individual with solid communication and organizational skills who can follow directions and complete tasks accurately and on deadline. Most daily work will include tasks such as reviewing and cleaning up web pages, working with clients in the Office of Research and Economic Development to help design, develop and improve the office’s web presence. Responsibilities also may include testing content/functionality for new web pages and managing online registration for office events. If the student assistant shows ability and projects are available, work could extend to helping program new modules to aid research at UNL, design informational graphics for grant proposals, work on print publications, photography and more.

The student assistant should have experience building Web pages through design and development. Experience and proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and html are required. Experience with graphic design/illustration using Adobe Illustrator/InDesign preferred. Programming in PHP or jQuery also a plus, but not required.

Successful candidate will work a minimum of 10 hours per week between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a schedule to be determined once hired. Pay is $9/hour. For more information, contact Joel Brehm at (402) 472-3557 or jbrehm2@unl.edu.
