Seven Addy Awards were won by individuals and groups from the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communication. The American Advertising Federation’s Lincoln chapter held the Addy Awards in March. The achievement consisted of five silver awards and two gold.
The winners of the awards outlined below are the UNL Ad Club advised by Kelli Britten, 2018 NSAC Team advised by Michael Goff and Rich Bailey, Katie Krcmarik, Sumit Jagdale and Cameron Scheele.

“Winning the awards felt incredibly fulfilling to know that our work was legit and recognized as more than just posters on a wall,” said Maddy Patten, UNL Ad Club copywriter. “Winning was a pleasant surprise because it wasn't a campaign made with the intention of getting an award, it was made to get people to go to Club. Having a committee of professionals being like ‘hey, that's award-winning work,’ was unexpected and exciting.”
The Nebraska American Advertising Awards competition is a yearly opportunity for professionals and students in the advertising industry to come together and recognize outstanding creative work from Nebraska. AAF Lincoln and AAF Omaha work together to host the ceremony and alternate the location between their respective home cities. The awards are open to any student or professional that would like to enter work. There is no club or team requirement.
AAF Lincoln is the American Advertising Federation’s local chapter. They strive to be a unifying voice for advertising that educates policymakers, news media and the public about the value advertising brings. They also work to develop future industry leaders.
