On April 27 at 3 p.m., the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Poker Club will host its inaugural Grand Championship at Andersen Hall. The clubs’ top nine players will face off to crown the first ever Grand Champion in UNL Poker history. We will also stream the grand championship on PokerNews’ social media, with the hopes of raising money for the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County to help aid flood victims who have been devastated throughout the state.

There will be a raffle for prizes, free food and drink for attending and being a part of our live audience and lots of fun moments and personalities. Raffle proceeds will go towards the United Way. Take a break from dead week and experience a club you may have never gotten to before! Or watch on PokerNews' social media!

You can also support the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster by making a good-will donation in person or online.

If you could donate any amount to help people in Nebraska get back on their feet, it would be greatly appreciated. All contributions will be given directly to the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County through GoFundMe.

In mid-March of this year, four major rivers as well as other streams around the state of Nebraska set record crests, causing an estimated $1.6 billion in damages as well as thousands of homes destroyed. With more rain and flooding still possible, monetary support is vital to ensure the safety and well-being of thousands of Nebraska citizens.

These are our friends, colleagues, family and fellow citizens and helping somehow is important. We hope to raise any amount of money for those affected by this historic event, enough to get someone back on their feet or feed them for a week. We hope those who come to watch and watch on the stream will donate to help give back to the state we love so much.
