Emergency Action Plan Review, Update and Submission Window May 1 – June 30 for Zones 7, 9, 11, and Raising Nebraska

Emergency Prepared
Emergency Prepared

Nebraska Extension and UNL’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and Planning encourage county Extension offices and Extension units to have plans in place for disasters and emergencies. Emergency action plans (EAP) outline the procedures and information staff can use in the event of an emergency. This includes office location, contact information, sheltering-in place, evacuation procedures and more.
Current submission window: May 1 – June 30: Zones 7, 9, 11 and Raising Nebraska.
Resources are available online, including the updated template for EAPs. If you have used an EAP template that was available prior to 2023, please go online and transition your office/unit plan into the newest version. Visit https://disaster.unl.edu/Emergency-Action-Plans
Remember, EAPs are living documents. While offices/units are asked to submit them on an annual basis for our organizational records, EAPs should be updated continually as the need arises (i.e. someone retires/resigns, someone new joins the office, change of office location, etc.).
If you are in an area that has been impacted by a recent disaster event, please reach out to Soni Cochran, scochran2@unl.edu and we will note your EAP may be submitted late.
The next submission window is September 1 – October 31 for Zones 2, 3, and 5.
