Our role with the new NU Rural Futures Institute

Your UNL Extension Leadership Team has been discussing our role with the new NU Rural Futures Institute. This is a very exciting discussion because many of us work in rural communities and we have a vested interest in helping our rural communities thrive.

Attached is a draft concept paper that provides a conceptual framework (http://go.unl.edu/h82). The purpose of this concept paper is to facilitate a conversation with all of you, please know that it is not the final version. As you review this concept paper, please keep in mind that it focuses conceptually on our possible roles and program areas. It does not address questions around detailed planning and implementation strategies, those conversations are the next step. Instead, I encourage you to consider conceptually how we can engage with the RFI and the kinds of programs we might deliver that are consistent with the RFI mission and core values.

Because I will overview this concept paper at the IANR All-Hands meeting on Thursday, I wanted to share it with you today so you would be "in the know".

I also encourage you to contribute to our conversation about our role with the RFI. To that end, I will facilitate two Adobe Connect webinars:

2:30 pm CST, Friday, January 25
3:00 pm CST, Tuesday, January 29

We will record and archive these webinars If you are not able to participate directly.

The url for this webinar is https://connect.unl.edu/rfi-conversation/.

I look forward to engaging with you in this important conversation.
