Joint NCEA and UNL Extension Fall Conference: Technology Training Sessions - November 13

By now you are aware of the technology training sessions scheduled on November 13 an Annual Conference. Topics are consistent with feedback collected from the Technology 2020 Survey completed this past spring. Sessions target social media, video conferencing, project management, collaboration, and how to use them programmatically. Extension staff and several UNL partners including Information Technology Services, the Office of Online & Distance Education, and Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education will present sessions. Hopefully, you will find multiple sessions of interest and if you can’t get to all of them, there are plans to record certain sessions for viewing later.

Harold Jarche, a network learning consultant will be a featured speaker during the Conference. Harold provides pragmatic advice and guidance on connected leadership, social learning, personal knowledge mastery, and workplace collaboration. During lunch on November 13 he will be talk about meeting the demands of a connected citizenry, how the world of work is changing and what it means to higher education. Later that afternoon he will be leading a workshop focusing on the demands of society in a hyper-connected world. He will help connect educators to connected learners using his Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) model. I’m sure he will provoke our thinking as to how as an organization can effectively engage and reach people in a very dynamic learning environment.
