Each year Wayne Area Economic Development gives an award to its "Most Valuable Patron"...an "organization" that supports our efforts.
The Wayne Area Economic Development presented Nebraska Extension with the Most Valuable Patron Award on January 31, 2016 for ALL of its support with bettering the Wayne community. We recognize this support in a variety of Extension's dedicated work in our area: LEADERSHIP WAYNE; "career fairs" held at Wayne State College each Fall bringing 900+ area sophomores to our campus; help with our annual Agricultural Outlook Seminar coordinated by our Ag Task Force; "Know Your Food" pizza project with the area elementaries (again in conjunction with the Ag Task Force); ‘Makin' Money Camp; and last year's very successful Disaster Preparedness Summit, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON!! We want to acknowledge several Nebraska Extension Educators for their leadership efforts and continual support: Amy Topp, Kim Bearnes, Ashley Mueller, and Carroll Welte.
