Harold will present, Understanding Media to Improve Learner Engagement; “We shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us.” —Marshall McLuhan, ‘Understanding Media’ (1964). If each medium influences communication, then what effect does that have on our own learning, as well as how we help others to learn? Social media are like languages. We need to speak them fluently in order to understand.
This webinar will describe examples of how various media have been used for learning. It will also provide a simple tool to analyze any medium, new or old.
This presentation tracks to much of the feedback we received from Fall Conference when groups were asked to discuss “next steps” needed around learner engagement.
