It looks like winter finally arrived in Nebraska, and just in time to keep all of the 1L's inside writing their memos over the weekend!

This week, we have the honor of hosting the Nebraska Supreme Court as they hold oral arguments at the Law College. This is required for 1L's, but all students are invited to attend in the Hamann Auditorium, beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 9th.

We had some good news recently. Next fall, we will welcome Professor Jessica Shoemaker to the faculty. Professor Shoemaker is a summa cum laude graduate of the the University of Wisconsin Law School. At Nebraska, Professor Shoemaker will teach Native American Law, Rural Law & Energy, and Property, and she will spend part of her time at UNL's Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources helping to establish a new Institute for the Rural Future. As I have mentioned before, we will also be joined next fall by Professor Adam Thimmesch, who will teach Business Associations, Corporate Finance, and Tax law. We continue our search for a faculty member to direct a new Entrepreneurship Clinic, so hopefully I will have some good news about that soon.

I hope you are all enjoying our changes to the lobby of the Law College. We continue to think about what else we might do to make the College an even more comfortable and attractive environment for our community and suggestions are always welcome. Just shoot me an email or drop by.

Have a great week and stay warm!
