Any student having taken or planning to take international trade law or international business transactions or international law should attend. Additionally, this is an excellent opportunity for 1L students to garner additional understanding and perspectives on international legal issues as a supplement to the international perspectives course.
It will be an entire day of activities, including presentations and round-table discussions all focused on international trade, trade and investment agreements, trade impacts, and related topics. Lunch will be served.
Law Speakers will include William Davey of the University of Illinois and former director of the legal services division at the World Trade Organization, and Michael Smart, Vice-President of Rock Creek Global Advisors and former International trade Counsel for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. Bill and Mike are two of the leading thinkers on international trade and investment law in the country. Other speakers include Will Martin of the World Bank, Jeffrey Schott of the Peterson Institute in Washington DC – two of the leading thinkers on international trade policy.
It is a rare opportunity to have such an amazing collection of the top international trade law and policy thinkers in one place outside of DC – and that place happens to be the UNL Law College – don’t miss the opportunity to hear from and interact with these speakers Friday April 5th.
Registration is FREE, but required, and includes the luncheon that day.
