The Center for Rural Affairs has a new externship opportunity for law students beginning this summer or fall (depending on student interest and availability).
The externship will be for 1-3 credit hours, and the extern will work with Center legal staff on renewable energy policy in the Great Plains and beyond, with a special emphasis on land
use and siting issues arising from new transmission line development.
The Center is an impressive grassroots organization with a wealth of experience and expertise on a range of issues related to rural people and rural communities. This is a unique and ideal opportunity for anyone interested in energy, land use, property rights, the environment, agriculture, rural development, or policy work generally.
The Center is located in Lyons, NE, but the extern can work remotely from Lincoln, with occasional trips to Lyons arranged as mutually desirable for the Center and the extern. Professor Shoemaker will supervise this externship.
If interested, please submit a resume and transcript to her through ROSCOE by April 22. Be sure to indicate which semester you are interested in (summer or fall).
