Dress for the first day of Orientation (Thursday the 21st) is business professional. For gentlemen, this means a button up collared shirt, a tie and slacks. Ladies, opt for a button up collared shirt/blouse or nice sweater set paired with a skirt or slacks. Suits for ladies or gentlemen are always a “safe” option.
The key is to dress professionally and be properly groomed. Remember, on the first day of Orientation you will meet with judges, lawyers, and faculty members and also be addressed by The Honorable William Jay Riley, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit so you will want to look your best. Also, the picture taken on the first day of Orientation will be used throughout your time here at Nebraska Law. The pictures can (and will) be used for announcements of student successes online and in print communications and professors use this picture on seating charts to get to know names.
Dress for Friday’s Orientation sessions, and for normal school days, is casual. On any given day here at the College of Law you will see students dressed in everything from suits to sweat pants.
