Rural Practice Initiative Associate and Summer Clerkship Placement Program
Are you a law student thinking about practicing in rural Nebraska but still have questions? The NSBA Rural Practice Committee is providing an opportunity for rural attorneys and law students to come together to discuss the 2015 clerkship program or full-time employment in rural Nebraska. Attorneys will have the opportunity to interview students at the Ramada Inn in Kearney on February 20, 2015 starting at 12:00 p.m. Each interview will last between 15-20 minutes. A reception will follow the interview session so that the lawyers and students can continue the conversation in an informal setting. Prior to the February 20 session, the students’ resumes will be sent to lawyers attending the conference to ensure that student interviews are with attorneys from the area that they are interested in practicing.

The NSBA has also received a $15,000 grant from the American Bar Association that will allow the NSBA to expand the number of clerkship opportunities made available to law students. Ten lawyers and/or firms will receive $1,000 to help offset the cost of hiring a clerk and ten clerks will receive a $500 housing stipend. Law students attending a law school in Nebraska will be given preference for the stipend.

Law Students: If you are interested in attending the conference, please contact Sam Clinch at 402-742-8125 or at sclinch@nebar.com. You may also download the law student application forms for the clerkship program here.
