Dr. Bob Portnoy, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, will make a presentation about law school stress on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 12:15-1:15 in the Auditorium. This session is mandatory for 1Ls and open to all other students. Before coming to UNL, Dr. Portnoy was the consulting psychologist at Vermont Law School for many years. In this November 9 workshop, he will address why law school can be stressful, and why it doesn’t have to be that way. He will also draw upon over 30 years of research on what determines whether you will be happy, anxious, or depressed. Finally, if time allows and if you choose to participate in this part of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to experience a sense of deep relaxation via a variation of a hypnotic trance state.
Session is mandatory for 1Ls, but 2Ls and 3Ls are also welcome.
