Colorado Option for 1L Clerks!
Woods & Aitken is a national leader in the practice of construction, telecommunications, and banking and finance law with offices in Lincoln, Omaha, Denver and Washington D.C. Additionally, the firm practices in many other areas of law including labor & employment, real estate, estate planning, and personal injury. Woods & Aitken will be on campus to interview 1L Nebraska Law students for summer clerkships on the first day of OCI, February 2, 2016.

As in past years, interested candidates will have the opportunity to work in the firm’s Omaha or Lincoln offices throughout the summer (the firm typically works with its clerks to determine which of those offices will be a clerk’s primary base). However, this summer, Woods & Aitken is offering a unique opportunity to those students interested in working in Colorado. W&A is offering an optional split-summer between its Nebraska and Denver offices. The clerk would be primarily located in the Lincoln and/or Omaha offices during the first part of the summer, but during the second part of the summer, the clerk would be primarily located in W&A’s Denver office if the clerk chooses that option. (Please note that all travel costs, housing arrangements, etc. that are associated with a split summer would be the responsibility of the law clerk.)

NSBA: Rural Practice Initiative Associate and Summer Clerkship Placement Program
In an effort to provide attorneys and law students with an opportunity to experience the practice of law in Greater Nebraska, the Nebraska State Bar Association is conducting its third annual Rural Practice Initiative Program.

In-person interviews for our clerkship program or full-time employment will take place at the Holiday Inn Kearney on Friday, February 12th from noon - 4:00 pm. The goal is to provide 15-20 minutes for each interview. We estimate that each attorney will have the opportunity to interview at least six students in the afternoon. Attorneys and students will have an additional opportunity to meet and converse at a reception following the formal interviewing session. Students participating in the program can gain practical experience (e.g., draft pleadings and interrogatories, shadow during court days and client meetings, research, and prepare briefs and memos).

If you are interested in interviewing for an associate position or a law clerkship for the summer of 2016, please apply and fill out the questionnaire attached to ROSCOE Job Listing #14614 and return to Sam Clinch, 635 S 14th St. #200, Lincoln, NE 68508. Please respond by January 29, 2016. If you have any questions about the application or placement process, please contact Sam Clinch at sclinch@nebar.com or call at 402.475.7091.

2016 Loyola Patent Law Interview Program
ATTN: All Law Students Returning for Fall Semester 2016
Loyola University Chicago School of law is hosting the 2016 Patent Law Interview Program on Thursday and Friday, August 4-5 in Chicago, Illinois. This is a nationwide interview program that targets patent law employers, rising 2L and 3L students, and students in Intellectual Property LLM programs.

Each year roughly 1,500 law students register for the program, submit their resumes, and bid on interviews with the nation-wide employers that interest them. The program is entirely employer selected - which means that participating employers review the resumes submitted to them and choose the law students they are interested in interviewing at the program. Roughly half of the students registered for the program are selected for interviews each year.

2016 Student Registration Dates: Monday, February 8 - Thursday, March 10, 2016

For more information, please see this listing in ROSCOE Events.
