Do you want to compete to win $250 ($500 per team)? Do you want to have your name displayed permanently on a plaque outside the Dean's office? Do you want to develop your ability to interact with clients? If so, you should participate in the Frank & Lawson Client Counseling Competition!
Not sold yet? By participating in the Client Counseling Competition, you may have an opportunity to compete in the upcoming regional, national and international client counseling competition (this year held in Dublin, Ireland!). Nebraska has an unparalleled record in these competitions. The College of Law has had 6 National Championships (5 since 2004!) and 13 or 14 Regional Championships in the last 18 years.
Even if you have limited time to dedicate to the competition, simply participating in several critiqued client interviews is a great way to develop a skill that you will use no matter what area of law you practice in. The ability to interview clients is skill every lawyer needs.
If you want to learn more about the Frank & Lawson Client Counseling Competition, come to our informational meeting on Wednesday, November 7, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm in Room 111. At the meeting, last year's Regional Client Counseling Champions, Kelsey Arends and Damon Hudson, will briefly demonstrate how to do a client interview.
