Karen Haase, an attorney who focuses her practice on the representation of public school districts and related entities, will discuss the impact of mental health and childhood trauma on public education. In particular, Karen will share information about the role social media may play in the significant increase in social anxiety and depression among adolescent students. Finally, Karen will discuss the role mental health plays in acts of school violence and the legal options school districts have to respond to threats.
