Archives & Special Collections holds Husker History Open House during Homecoming

Time travel through Husker history with the Archives & Special Collections, October 3, from 3-5 p.m., in Love Library, lower level. All are welcome at the free event, which will feature recently acquired or donated materials. Activities will include a selfie station with props featuring Husker mascots and icons and a time-traveling game with archival photos.

Please RSVP to help organizers prepare. Refreshments will be provided.

The faculty and staff of the Archives & Special Collections are excited to host this event during Homecoming.

“Many new treasures have been added, and we thought Homecoming was a great time to celebrate these treasures coming home to our collections and to Nebraska” explained Melanie Griffin, chair of Archives & Special Collections, University Libraries.

Football memorabilia will be on display along with materials from:
• Husker sports highlights, including materials from Bob Devaney, head football coach (1962-1972) and director of athletics (1967-1993), and women’s volleyball
• Willa Cather, Pulitzer Prize winning author and Husker Icon (UNL 1895)
• Additional poets and authors, including Nebraska native Weldon Kees and African American poet Ella Robinson
• Women’s and LGBTQ Centers at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln
