The Libraries have recently begun using the “Guide on the Side” software to develop interactive, self-paced, online tutorials aimed at strengthening research and information literacy skills. The tool is a frames-based application, that walks students through navigating live web resources (see examples at http://libpub.unl.edu/guide_on_the_side/). All Guides are assessable and accessible, and can include a certificate of completion if desired.
If you would like to have a custom Guide created for your course, please contact librarian Erica DeFrain, edefrain2@unl.edu, and she will work with you and your department’s librarian to develop the right Guide for you.
