The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) Research team is excited to open the solicitation for new research ideas for next year’s research program. If you have an idea that is transportation related and needs additional resources to develop or test, this is the opportunity to fill out a statement of need describing the idea or issue. You can find a statement of need form on the NDOT research website. Please fill out the form and submit the idea to Ndot.research@nebraska.gov by September 15, 2020. If you would like to review your idea with an individual in the NDOT technical area (Materials, Pavements, Maintenance, Construction, Roadway, Hydraulics, Environmental, Traffic, Safety, Planning, Transit, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Structures, and Geotechnical), please send a request and the research team would be happy to put you in contact with the right people. All ideas are welcome and appreciated.
The Nebraska Transportation Council meetings will discuss and prioritize all the research ideas the week of October 5th. More information about the meetings will be sent to those submitting proposals once all ideas have been submitted.
