As the orange drums and chevroned barricades emerge from their winter hibernation, we take a minute to refresh on safety practices in the work zone. April 26-30 is Work Zone Awareness Week.

We encourage you to take this week's safety meeting to focus on work zone topics, department policies and procedures, and best practices that will serve your team in this year's construction and maintenance projects.

Missouri LTAP and MoDOT are partnering to provide free work zone webinars daily next week. We are pleased to extend this opportunity to Nebraska transportation professionals as well. Each day's webinar will run from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM CDT.

  • April 26 - 2020 FHWA/MoDOT Work Zone Process Review: including enhanced safety, LPA and permit support, temporary traffic control concerns, and unique and successful practices.
  • April 27 - Maintenance of Traffic for Supervisors: information about the placement and inspection of traffic control devices.
  • April 28 - Flagging and Personal Protective Equipment
  • April 29 - Flagging Safety
