Basic Temporary Traffic Control is a one-day introductory course that introduces the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and related documents important to temporary traffic control professionals. Participants will be able to discuss the fundamental principles of TTC and their value to them in the field, identify areas in a work zone, distinguish among various TTC devices, and determine the appropriate number of devices and device spacing for various roadway types and conditions. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their learning in hands-on exercises. The course concludes with a certification exam that, upon successful completion, will earn each participant NDOT Basic TTC Certification.

Advanced Temporary Traffic Control is a two-day course is the follow-up course to the Basic Temporary Traffic Control course. Participants should have some experience in TTC. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a deeper knowledge of common TTC devices used in Nebraska, the Nebraska TTC Standard Plans, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the Nebraska Flagger Handbook, be able to draft a basic TTC plan, work with the various stakeholders on a roadway construction or maintenance site, and supervise the installation, maintenance and removal of a TTC plan. The course will conclude with a certification exam that, upon successful completion, will earn each participant NDOT Advanced TTC Certification.
