Mitch shares a recap of the 2022 Winter Maintenance Workshop in this month's memo.

To those of you who joined us recently at the Winter Maintenance Workshop and Equipment Roadeo, thanks for contributing to a great event! The weather cooperated beautifully, and I think the organizational changes to the schedule improved the efficiency of the competitions. Over-all, a great success! Many thanks to the planning committee for all their time and effort throughout the year. Members of the planning committee are Bill Bebb, Ron Bohaty, Tim Byrne, Shannon Callahan, Jeff Calentine, Scott Campbell, Brandon Fisicaro, Ben Glantz, Ed Lahmann, Rick Lee, Jill Retenteller, Rod Ripley, Jennifer Roesler, the LTAP staff, and the APWA Nebraska Board.

Thanks to the Nebraska Chapter of APWA, who provided gift cards and travel cost to a national event for the winners. Our other great sponsors included our equipment providers: Adams County, Central Nebraska Bobcat, the City of Grand Island, Hamilton County, the City of Kearney, Lancaster County, and the City of Lincoln. This event also had vendors for participants to explore including Logan Contractors Supply, Rose Equipment, MacQueen Equipment, and Shaffer Communications. The Nebraska APWA Chapter also had a booth to promote the 2023 North American Snow Conference coming to Omaha April 16-19.

Congratulations to the following winners: Nick Smith from Washington County, Brad Carson from Washington County, Robert Larsen from Lancaster County, Shane Alley from the City of Lincoln, and David Kruger from Washington County.

To the agencies who did not get a chance to participate, please watch for details of next year’s event later in the year. We would love to see more great equipment operators give this year’s winners some stiff competition next year!
