The Academy in Action Presents: Policing & Racism

The Academy in Action is an event series which bridges academic knowledge with action through the power of stories, and connections with on-the-ground change-makers. We are holding a panel event showcasing four experts from the Lincoln community invested in work on policing and racism. The event is designed to bridge academic and public discourse on policing and racism in order to foster community engagement among UNL and the greater Lincoln community.

We want to invite members of our CAS community to engage in these discussions. For our event on policing and racism, we'll be joined by:

Black Leaders Movement, Lincoln
Dr. Jeannette Jones, Professor of History, Ethnic Studies, and Women and Gender Studies at UNL
Leo Yankton, Lincoln Community Activist
Dr. Anne Hobbs, Director of the Juvenile Justice Institute at UNO

The event will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, October 13th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm (CST). Please register for this event by completing the Google form located here.
