Financing Health Education School Workshop
November 16th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in Love Library South
• The extra years of school required to attain your career in healthcare will have financial implications (debt, costs of living, etc.). Attend this session and start thinking about how you can prepare financially for your advanced education and learn about options for financing your health school education.

Applying to Health Schools 101 Workshop November 17th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in Love Library South
• Are you planning to apply to a professional health school in the next couple of years? Even if you are in your first or second year of college, it is important to learn about the steps in the application process and what you can do now to prepare to submit your best application. This workshop will not cover information about applying to nursing school, radiography programs, or dental hygiene programs.

Pre-Law

Gaining Experience as a Pre-Law Student
October 27, 4:00 PM- 5:00 PM Love Library South 221
• Work experience, campus involvement, and community involvement are essential ways to build skills you will need as a lawyer. But with so many options, it can be hard to know where to begin getting involved and building your pre-law skills and background. We invite you to the Gaining Experience as a Pre-Law Student workshop next week. In this workshop, we will be going over the many ways to gain experience as a Pre-Law student.

Virtual Mid-West Law School Fair
• The Midwest Alliance for Law School Admissions, along with the Law School Admissions Council, is sponsoring a virtual law fair on Tuesday, November 16thfrom 10 am to 12 pm CT. At this point in time, more than 40 law schools are registered to attend. The event is free to your students so long as they have registered to attend at least one of LSAC’s Digital Forums (https://www.lsac.org/digital-schedule).

Nonprofit in Residence: Friendship Home
October 26th
• Information: Friendship Home helps victims of domestic violence find physical and emotional safety. Offering possibilities to help change their lives when things are at their worst - to be hope they can feel. Opportunities include volunteering as a Children’s Advocate spending Monday and Tuesday evenings with children while parents attend group meetings. There are also opportunities to help clean the building, decorate units for new families moving in, and organizing donations. They have two special events during the year – Stuff the Bus and Safe Quarters.

Nonprofit in Residence: Big Brothers Big Sisters
October 27th
• Information: The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters Lincoln connects our community's youth – “Littles” – with caring mentors – “Bigs” – to help youth thrive through mentorship. Our program provides free year-round mentoring services for children and youth ages 7-16, by connecting them with an adult mentor role model aged 19+. Big/Little matches meet 3-4 times per month for a minimum one-year commitment to establish and grow a mentoring relationship.

• Information: Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties is a private, not-for-profit organization with the belief that extraordinary employees have the power to positively transform lives and communities. We value people who are passionate, ethical, and dedicated to empowering those living in poverty to reach economic stability. Experiences are tailored to fit your individual skills, interests, and goals. Examples include: volunteer receptionist, maintenance volunteer, landscaping and helping at the Gathering Place soup kitchen.
